Black Paris visit with Malaak Shabazz

In February is celebrated the “Black History Month” in the US and Canada officially. Every year during this month several tributes are organized to Black History Men for their fight against slavery and for their civil rights.

This year, I decided to pay hommage to them thanks to Malaak Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X. She was in Paris in February invited by the CRAN for the 50th anniversary of her father’s passing and a visit of the Black Paris had been organised to share with her part of French Black History.

Let’s discover Paris from a different point of view thanks to htis tour organized by Kévi. (http://www.blakpariswalks.com)

Vidigal, favela for VIP

Short walk with Justine in the favela of Vidigal. Pacified and “cleaned” from any undesirable people we had a talk about this neighbourhood passing in 2 years time from the no man’s land to the place to be for the world’s VIPs.

Visit of the Vila Nova Esperança

Being in Sao Paulo I want to discover life ofpeople from disadvantaged neighborhoods. The ones forgotten by the more than 20 million inhabitants. I decided to go to Vila Nova Esperança (the City of New Hope), which is a favela not recognize by the authorities of Sao Paulo.

What are the consequences ? What future can expect these people ?
